Oh noooos, another PvP vs PvE debate!
PvP has some obvious advantages over PvE characters (more easily changed, access to everything unlocked).
The price for that is generic items and stuff. Sorry, but if you want shiny stuff, you have to PvE!

Maybe I'm going mad, but I thought you could already see what new PvP armor there is going to be available. When you chose the armor for your PvP char, there are 3 new armors available for each class, you just can't select them yet... think I'm right in what I'm saying.
Personally, I think that a choice of 6 armors is rather generous... surely there is at least one you like?

There IS most likely one he likes, the problem being that it might not have the stats he wants...
Yes, PvP'ers are being fashion-screwed once more. But then again, it's PvP. If you want to put on a role I guess you should go roleplay; PvE.

Sure, I understood that :P
maybe I read wrong but I thought this was about appearance and "cosmetics"... not stats.

I should've known I'd get responses like this.
edit: Ok, that was rude. Sorry. It's just... I had no intention of starting another stupid PVP/PVE flamewar. I only wanted to confirm what I feared was true and gripe a little about it.

It's about both. There is an armor I like, but for PVP characters it's saddled with a useless bonus. I'm not so good at this game that I can afford to underpower myself just for appearance's sake.

I expect this to be highly unlikely.
Wouldnt it suck if everyone Warrior and every Necromancer on the Kurzick side look exactly the same?
Sure, the armors for Luxon and Kurzick will prolly be different, but not to the point where there are basicly just 2 types of armor in the game, 1 for each side.

how is that different from the current campaign? you get people running around wearing pretty much the exact same armours, exact same dyes and even in some cases same cape (but thats not the point).
Luxon and Kurzicks will have the same types of armours just different appearances, the appearances of those armours reflect on that faction's lifestyle, culture and environment.
Personally I like the Kurzick armours over the Luxons, but I want to fight for the Luxons because I don't really like dark gothic environments, probably spend some time leveling in Kurzicks, get their armour and then move to the Luxons and fight for them :-)

Well, Raziel, that's how it worked in the FPE, and frankly, I prefere it that way. It means we can mix-and-match stats without sacrificing cosmetics.
Besides, there'll be Canthan armor, Kurzick armor, Luxon armor, their 15k counterparts and all the Tyrian armor. I don't think every Kurzick will look the same.

I still expect each side to have like 3 types of looks unique to its side. I guess we could debate this for another couple of days, but all we can do is wait and see.
But then there is this from the Gamespot interview:
"We've given players more choices about the appearance of their armor even if they want particular stats."
So I'm not really sure whats gonna happen.
